A woodpecker, Hi8 videofilm,
15 min
This film is an exploration of continuity
between different generations' use of landscape . The film
begins with alternating long shots of a poplar tree moved
by the storm and a silent and empty living room furnished
in an old fashionend way. The next images follow a boy carrying
a bow and arrow, roaming about a greened noise barrier by
the road. In contrast, these shots are interposed by images
showing details of the bare living room. They also show an
old lady, reading excerpts from the Day
Trippers' Lexicon, including passages about rubber
boots, stinging nettles, lawn mowers, the bow and arrow, and
so on.
