Operation Wasp Salamander plays with the idea that a new species (the Wasp Salamander) has evolved in the gravel pit's pond. The Wasp Salamander is a poisonous mutation of the native great crested newt. It resembles the great crested newt, but has more vivid colors. As a result of the discovery of the deadly new species, a path leading down to the waterhole has been fenced off. A sign post explains that the new species is poisonous and that it is dangerous to touch it. Behind the barrier, down by the edge of the waterhole, items are seemingly left behind (fishing nets, a microscope and more sculptural instruments), a sign that an investigation may have taken place.
How do we feel about the fact that nature in Denmark can be dangerous?
